Your amazing liver at work!
Your Liver helps your body by cleaning your blood and helping digest food.
Your liver sits on the right side of your belly, just under your ribs. All the blood from your stomach and intestines passes through it. The liver cleans out things your body does not need, stores sugar as energy for later, and makes a green-brown juice called bile that helps your body break down fatty foods.
You can help your liver by eating healthy meals and not too many sugary or fatty snacks, by being active, and by never taking medicine unless a grown-up gives it to you. Many medicines are broken down by the liver, so taking the right amount matters.
