Exploring the wonder of a sunset!
A Sunset is the moment the sun sinks below the horizon at the end of the day.
A sunset happens every evening when your part of Earth turns away from the Sun. As the Sun gets low, its light travels through much more air to reach your eyes. The air scatters away most of the blue light, leaving the warm reds, oranges and pinks that make sunsets so colorful.
You can watch a sunset from anywhere with a clear view toward the west, such as a beach, a hilltop or a high window. Never look straight at the Sun, even when it is low. Look at the colors in the clouds around it instead, and see how long it takes for the first star to appear.
