A Car is a vehicle with four wheels that helps people travel on roads. Most cars have an engine that burns gas (or uses electricity) to make the wheels turn. Cars have a steering wheel to control direction, pedals to go fast or stop, and seats for passengers. They are the most common way people get to school, work, and the grocery store!

Cars come in many shapes and sizes for different jobs:
Inside the car, the engine mixes fuel (gas) with air and lights a tiny spark. This creates a small explosion that pushes pistons up and down. This movement turns the crankshaft, which spins the wheels. When the driver presses the gas pedal, the car goes faster. When they press the brake pedal, pads squeeze the wheels to stop the car.
