Meet the helpers at the fire station!
The Fire Station is where firefighters work to put out fires and rescue people in danger.
At the fire station, you will find firefighters. Their important job is to put out fires and rescue people in danger.
Many fire stations have open days when children can sit in the fire truck, try on a helmet and see the hoses up close. Firefighters also visit schools to teach fire safety: how to stop, drop and roll, how to crawl low under smoke, and why every home needs a working smoke alarm. In an emergency, call your country's emergency number, such as 911 in the US or 112 in Europe.
