Your amazing teeth at work!
Your Teeth help your body by biting and chewing your food.
Each tooth has a hard white outer layer called enamel, a softer layer underneath called dentin, and a soft middle called the pulp, which has nerves and blood vessels. The roots hold the tooth firmly in your jawbone. Front teeth, called incisors, cut food, pointy canines tear it, and wide molars at the back grind it up.
Brush your teeth for two minutes, twice a day, with a little fluoride toothpaste, and clean between them too. Sugary drinks and sticky sweets feed the germs that cause cavities, so save them for treats and drink water instead. Visit the dentist for check-ups, and wear a mouthguard for contact sports.
