Discover the Game Controller!
A Game Controller is used for letting you control characters and actions in a video game.
Inside a game controller, each button sits on top of a small switch on a circuit board. Pressing a button closes the switch and the controller sends a signal to the console, telling it which button you pressed. The joysticks measure how far you push them in each direction, and some controllers have motion sensors that notice when you tilt or shake them.
Game controllers are used with game consoles, computers and some TVs. Some are specially designed so that players with disabilities can use them, with big buttons that can be placed wherever they are easiest to reach.
