📚 Tip: Drag each word to the correct category!
What your child practices
Sorting words into nouns and verbs is one of the first grammar ideas children learn. Thinking "Can I touch it or see it?" for nouns and "Can I do it?" for verbs helps children understand how sentences are built.
Tips for grown-ups
A noun names a person, place, animal or thing, like dog, school or apple. A verb is an action word, like run, jump or eat.
It suits children from about 5 to 8, when they start reading simple sentences.
Ask them to try the word in a sentence. If you can put "I can" in front of it, like "I can run", it is a verb.
